A borehole submersible pump is installed below the static water level and uses a sealed electric motor driving multistage impellers to generate the pressure required to lift water to the surface. It forms the primary source stage of a groundwater supply system. Water is pushed up the rising main and delivered to storage tanks, booster systems, or treatment stages depending on the site layout. Correct selection is based on borehole yield, dynamic water level, required flow rate, and total head. The pump must be matched to the borehole and protected against dry-running and excessive cycling.
